Getting There
Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Artvin. Head east on the D-915 highway towards Yusufeli. After approximately 38 km, turn left onto the road that leads to Olgunlar. Follow this road for about 15 km until you reach the village of Olgunlar. From there, continue further along the dirt road for about 5 km, where you will find Lake Deniz. Be cautious as the road can be narrow and winding. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Artvin to Yusufeli. Buses run frequently throughout the day. Once in Yusufeli, you will need to take a dolmuş (shared taxi) to Olgunlar. Inform the driver that you are heading to Lake Deniz as they are familiar with the area. The dolmuş ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. After arriving in Olgunlar, you can either walk to the lake (about 5 km) or arrange for a local taxi to take you directly to Lake Deniz.
Hiking
For those who are adventurous and enjoy hiking, you can start from Olgunlar and hike to Lake Deniz. The hike is approximately 5 km and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. The trail is scenic but can be steep in some areas, so wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Kaçkar Mountains along the way!
