Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Head east on the Ahal Province road, then take the M37 highway towards the Köpetdag Mountains. Drive for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of the mountains. From there, follow the local signs towards 'Bugor Ak-Tepe.' The last stretch involves navigating unpaved roads, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Ensure to have a GPS device or a reliable map, as some routes may not be well-marked.
Public Transportation
To reach Bugor Ak-Tepe via public transportation, take a bus from Ashgabat to the nearby village of Geoktepe, which is approximately 25 kilometers from the mountains. Buses run frequently, but it’s advisable to check the schedule in advance. Upon reaching Geoktepe, you will need to hire a local taxi to take you closer to Bugor Ak-Tepe. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi ride may cost around 30-50 TMT depending on the distance and the driver.
Hiking

Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear, carry plenty of water, and possibly hire a local guide who is familiar with the area to lead you to Bugor Ak-Tepe. The hike offers stunning views, but be prepared for steep terrain.
