Car
If you are traveling by car from Gulu, head southeast on the Gulu-Kampala Road (A1). After approximately 275 kilometers, take the exit towards Mukono/Buikwe. Continue on this road for about 15 kilometers until you reach the Sezibwa River area. Follow signs for local attractions and park your car in designated areas near the river.
Public Transportation
To reach Sezibwa River using public transportation, first take a taxi or bus from Gulu to Kampala. The journey takes about 5-6 hours. Once you arrive at the Kampala taxi park, look for a taxi heading towards Mukono. After about 1 hour, ask the driver to drop you off at the Sezibwa River junction. From there, you may need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach the river. Keep in mind that taxi fares may vary, so budget around 30,000 to 50,000 UGX for the entire journey.
Bicycle
For the adventurous traveler, consider renting a bicycle in Mukono. Start from Mukono town and cycle towards Sezibwa River, which is about 10 kilometers away. The route is mostly flat and passes through scenic landscapes. Make sure to wear a helmet and carry water, as there are limited shops along the way.
Walking
If you are already in the Mukono district, you can walk to the Sezibwa River from the nearest taxi drop-off point. The distance is roughly 2 kilometers. Follow the main road and look for signs leading to the river. Be cautious of traffic and enjoy the local scenery along the way.
