Getting there

Car

From Gulu town, head southeast on the Gulu-Kampala road towards the town of Kitgum. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will see a sign for the Eclipse Monument to your left. Turn onto the dirt road that leads to the monument. Drive for about 5 kilometers until you reach the monument. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.

Public Transportation

Take a matatu (shared taxi) from Gulu town to Kitgum. The journey will take about an hour. Ask the driver to drop you near the Eclipse Monument turnoff. From there, you may need to walk approximately 5 kilometers along the dirt road to reach the monument. Be prepared for a walk, as public transport may not take you all the way to the monument.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from Gulu town and follow the Gulu-Kampala road towards Kitgum. The distance is about 30 kilometers, so ensure you are physically prepared for the ride. Once you reach the sign for the Eclipse Monument, turn onto the dirt road and cycle for about 5 kilometers to the monument.

Walking

If you are already in the vicinity of the Eclipse Monument and prefer walking, you can navigate from nearby local landmarks. Ensure you have a local map or ask for directions to the dirt road leading to the monument, which is about 5 kilometers from the main road.
