By car
From Kampala, take the Jinja-Kampala highway towards Mbale. Once in Mbale, continue on the highway towards Soroti. About 32km from Soroti, there will be a signpost indicating the turn-off to Pian Upe Game Reserve. Follow the dirt road for about 15km until you reach the reserve entrance.
Public transportation
From Kampala, take a bus or taxi to Mbale. From Mbale, take a taxi or boda boda to the town of Kapchorwa. Once in Kapchorwa, you can hire a local guide with a 4x4 vehicle to take you to Pian Upe Game Reserve. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Kapchorwa to Soroti and then hire a taxi or boda boda to reach the reserve entrance.
