Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, ensure you have a reliable map or GPS device. Start your journey from Hoima city center, heading southeast on the main road (Masindi - Hoima Road). Continue for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit towards the Bunyoro Kingdom Palace. After about 1 kilometer, you will see the palace on your left. There is ample parking available near the entrance.

Public Transportation (Matatu)

From Hoima town, head to the taxi park where you can find matatus (shared minibuses) heading towards the Bunyoro Kingdom Palace. The fare is usually around 1,000 UGX. Once you board, inform the driver of your destination. The journey should take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. You will be dropped off near the entrance of the palace. From there, it is a short walk to the main entrance.

Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

For a quicker option, you can hire a boda boda from anywhere in Hoima. Simply approach a boda boda driver and negotiate the fare, which should range between 3,000 to 5,000 UGX for a ride to the Bunyoro Kingdom Palace. Ensure you wear a helmet, which is usually provided by the driver. The ride will take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
