Car
If you're driving, head southwest on the Rukiga Road (A46) from Kampala. Continue for about 400 km until you reach the junction at Kabale. Turn left onto the Kabale-Buhoma Road (approximately 50 km). Follow this road until you reach Buhoma Sector, located within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as some parts of the road may be challenging.
Public Transportation
From Kampala, take a bus or shared taxi to Kabale. Buses leave from various terminals, and the journey typically takes around 8-10 hours. Once in Kabale, you can hire a local taxi or a motorbike taxi (boda-boda) to take you to Buhoma. The distance from Kabale to Buhoma is about 50 km, and the ride may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on road conditions.

While in Kabale, if you prefer a quicker option, consider taking a boda-boda directly to Buhoma. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. Expect to pay around 50,000 to 70,000 UGX for this ride, depending on negotiation and road conditions. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow safety precautions as the journey can be bumpy.
