    From Kampala, take the Kampala-Jinja highway. After about 50 km, merge onto the Jinja-Kamuli road towards Kamuli. Continue for approximately 40 km until you reach the junction with the Mbale road. Turn right onto the Mbale road and proceed for about 130 km until you reach Mbale town. From Mbale, take the direction towards the town of Budadiri, which is approximately 25 km away. Follow the signs to Mount Elgon National Park, which is well-marked. The entrance is located near Budadiri.

    From Kampala, head to the main bus terminal (usually located at Kisenyi). Board a bus heading to Mbale; the journey typically takes about 4-5 hours. Once in Mbale, you can take a taxi or a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to Budadiri, which is around 25 km away. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. After reaching Budadiri, you can either walk or hire a local guide to take you to the entrance of Mount Elgon National Park.
