Car
If you are driving from Kampala, take the Kampala-Gulu highway (A-1). After approximately 300 km, turn left onto the road towards Kitgum (A-1). Continue on this road for about 90 km until you reach Kitgum Town. From Kitgum, follow signs to Kidepo National Park, which is approximately 100 km away. The entrance to the park is at Nataba Gate, located in Kipepo Village. Make sure to have cash for the park entry fees, which are approximately $40 for foreign non-residents.

Public Transport
To reach Nataba Gate by public transport, start by taking a taxi (minibus) from Kampala to Kitgum. The journey takes about 6-8 hours and costs approximately 30,000 to 50,000 UGX. Once in Kitgum, hire a local taxi or boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you to Nataba Gate, which is about 100 km away. This taxi ride may cost around 100,000 to 150,000 UGX. Ensure you negotiate the fare in advance.

Combination of Car and Public Transport
If you prefer a combination, take a taxi from Kampala to Kitgum as mentioned above. Once in Kitgum, instead of hiring a taxi, you can also find shared pick-up trucks that head towards Kidepo NP.
