Car
If you are driving from Mbale town, head north on the Mbale-Moroto Road (A109). Continue for approximately 5 kilometers until you see signs for Wanale Hill. Look for a dirt road on your left that leads towards the hill. Drive up this road for about 2 kilometers, where you'll find a parking area near the base of Wanale Hill. Be cautious as the road can be rough in places.
Public Transportation
From Mbale town, take a 'boda boda' (motorcycle taxi) or a shared taxi to Wanale Hill. Many boda boda riders are familiar with the area and can take you directly to the base of the hill for around 5,000-10,000 UGX. If you choose a shared taxi, head to the taxi park and look for a taxi heading towards Moroto; inform the driver you want to stop at Wanale Hill. The fare will typically be around 2,000-5,000 UGX, but confirm with the driver before boarding. Once you reach the drop-off point, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the hill.
Walking
If you're already in a nearby area, you can walk to Wanale Hill from the Mbale-Moroto Road. Find a path leading off the main road towards the hill. The walk can take about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace, so ensure you wear comfortable shoes and carry enough water for the journey.
