If you are in the center of Entebbe, start by heading south on Kampala Road. Walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Jinja Road. Continue walking for another 1 kilometer, then turn left onto Nambi Road. Follow Nambi Road for about 500 meters until you reach the entrance to Mabamba Swamp. You may need to ask locals for directions as there are several paths leading to the swamp.

Find a nearby boda boda stand in Entebbe. Tell the rider you want to go to Mabamba Swamp for shoebill watching. The ride typically takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your journey. The rider will know the best routes and can drop you off directly at the entrance to the swamp.

Public Transport (Matatu)
From the central area of Entebbe, head to the nearest matatu (minibus) stage. Look for a matatu traveling towards Kiwafu. Board the matatu and pay the fare (usually around 1,000 UGX). Inform the conductor you want to get off at Mabamba Swamp. The matatu will drop you off near the swamp entrance, and from there you can walk the remaining distance.
