Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Birdwatching Lake Victoria
A gem of a tour near Entebbe airport!!
The Mabamba Swamp Shoebill and Birdwatching tour is an often overlooked gem -- it was a fantastic half-day trip, starting not far from the Entebbe international airport. A boat ride of about 50 minutes takes you to the Mabamba Swamp, which is a very beautiful and large wetlands area on the northwestern edge of Lake Victoria. Ronnie and Kenneth were my guides, and did a fantastic job!! They were very informative, personable, and fun to be with. We saw many bird species, and the highlight was observing 2 Shoebills at close range (one for more than 15 minutes). Ir was a superb trip and very unique experience. Do not miss if you are visiting Uganda, and book with Ronnie and Kenneth!! Highly recommended!!
