Starting from the center of Fort Portal, head towards the main roundabout at the junction of Kabarole Road and the road to Kasese. From the roundabout, take the first exit onto Kabarole Road. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the road leading to the Fort Portal town park. You should see signs for the park. Turn left onto this road and walk for about 500 meters until you reach the entrance of the park. The Lugard Monument is located within the park area, which is a short walk from the entrance.

If you're renting a bicycle in Fort Portal, start at the town center and ride towards the main roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Kabarole Road. Cycle straight for approximately 1 kilometer. Look for the sign indicating the turn-off for the Fort Portal town park and take a left. Continue along this road for about 500 meters to the entrance of the park, where you can lock your bike and walk to the Lugard Monument.
