    From the center of Fort Portal, start at the main roundabout (known as the Fort Portal Roundabout). Head south towards the Kabarole District Headquarters along the main road (Mityana - Fort Portal Road). Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction where the road splits. Here, you will see a sign for Lugard Monument pointing left. Turn left onto the road (Kijura Road) and continue straight for about 500 meters. You will pass by several local shops and a school on your left. As you approach the Lugard Monument, you will see it situated on a small hilltop, surrounded by trees. The monument is easily recognizable, and you can also ask locals for directions if needed.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Fort Portal. Start at the main roundabout and head south on the Mityana - Fort Portal Road. Cycle straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Kijura Road. Turn left onto Kijura Road and continue cycling for about 500 meters. Keep an eye out for the Lugard Monument on your right as you approach the hilltop. The route is mostly flat and safe for cyclists.

    To reach Lugard Monument using a boda boda (motorcycle taxi), find a boda boda stand near the center of Fort Portal, especially around the main roundabout. Inform the rider that you want to go to Lugard Monument. They will take you along the Mityana - Fort Portal Road, passing the Kabarole District Headquarters. After about 5 minutes, they will turn left onto Kijura Road. The monument is located on a small hilltop, and the driver will drop you off right at the entrance.
