Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving to Explorers River Camp from the center of Jinja, head northeast on Main Street (also known as Jinja-Kamuli Road). After about 2 kilometers, take a left turn onto the Bujagali Road. Continue for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the sign for Bujagali Falls. Turn left and follow the road for another 2 kilometers, keeping an eye out for signs directing you towards Explorers River Camp. The camp will be on your right, just next to the river.

  • Public Transportation (Matatu)

    To reach Explorers River Camp using public transport, head to the Jinja Bus Park and find a matatu heading towards Bujagali Falls. The fare is usually around 1,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings). The journey takes about 30 minutes. Inform the conductor that you are going to Explorers River Camp, and they will drop you off at the nearest point. From there, you may need to walk for about 15 minutes along the riverbank to reach the camp.

  • Bicycle Rental

    For a more adventurous route, consider renting a bicycle in Jinja. Start from the Jinja Main Street and head towards Bujagali Road, as you would if driving. After about 7 kilometers, you will reach a small dirt road leading to the camp. The bike rental usually costs around 10,000 UGX for a few hours.
