  • Car

    If you're driving from Jinja, start on the Jinja-Kampala Highway (A-1). Follow the highway for about 20 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Mabira Forest, and take the exit towards the forest entrance. The road will lead you directly to the entrance of Mabira Forest. Be prepared for a few bumps along the way, as some sections of the road may not be well maintained.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Mabira Forest by public transportation, first catch a 'matatu' (shared taxi) or bus from Jinja to Kampala. These vehicles frequently depart from the main taxi park in Jinja. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Mabira Forest junction. The fare is usually around 3,000 to 5,000 UGX. Once you arrive at the junction, you can either walk the 3 kilometers to the forest entrance or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you there for a small fee (about 2,000 to 5,000 UGX).
