Car
If you are traveling by car from any location in Teso, first head towards Mbale town. From Teso, take the A1 road towards Mbale. Once in Mbale, follow signs directing you to Jinja. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the town of Jinja. Continue straight into Jinja and follow the signs to Itanda Falls, which is located on Lubanyi Road. The falls are about 9 km from Jinja town center. Look for road signs directing you to Itanda Falls as you approach Lubanyi Rd. Parking is available near the falls, but be cautious of any fees that may apply for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Itanda Falls using public transportation, start by boarding a bus or shared taxi to Jinja from your location in Teso. The journey may take approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Jinja, you can take a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) or walk to Lubanyi Road. The ride to Itanda Falls from Jinja town will take about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to negotiate the fare in advance; it typically costs around 5,000 to 10,000 UGX for a boda-boda ride. Keep in mind that you may need to pay an entrance fee to access the falls.
