Getting There

  If you are at the Jinja Main Market, head east on Main Street. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the Nile Avenue. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer, passing by a few shops and local eateries. You will soon see signs directing you towards the Nile River. As you approach the river, take a left turn onto Bridge Close. The Bourbon will be on your left at Plot 8. It is a cozy bar known for its atmosphere.

• Bicycle

  If you are renting a bicycle, start from the Jinja Main Market and cycle towards Main Street heading east. Continue until you reach the roundabout, then take the second exit onto Nile Avenue. Cycle straight for about 1 kilometer, enjoying the local sights. When you arrive at the river, take a left onto Bridge Close. The Bourbon is located at Plot 8 on your left-hand side. Be sure to secure your bicycle before entering.

• Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

  From any location in Jinja, you can easily find a boda boda. Simply tell the rider 'The Bourbon at Plot 8 Bridge Close.' Most boda boda drivers will know this popular location. The ride should take around 5 to 10 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

• Public Transport (Matatu)

  To use public transport, head to the nearest matatu stage. Take a matatu heading towards the Jinja Main Market. Once you arrive at the market, exit and walk east towards Main Street. Follow the walking instructions above from the market to The Bourbon, which is about a 15-minute walk.
