Getting There

  • Car

    From Lango, head southwest on the main road towards Kampala. After approximately 275 km, merge onto the Mbarara-Kampala Road (A109). Continue on this road for about 55 km until you reach the junction for Fort Portal. Take the Fort Portal exit and drive for another 70 km on the Fort Portal-Bundibugyo Road (A109). Once you reach Bundibugyo, follow the signs to Rwenzori Mountains National Park, which is approximately 10 km from Bundibugyo town. Make sure to have a map or GPS for precise navigation.

  • Public Transportation

    From Lango, take a bus to Kampala, which costs approximately UGX 20,000 to UGX 30,000. From Kampala, transfer to a bus heading to Fort Portal (costing about UGX 30,000 to UGX 50,000). Upon arrival in Fort Portal, take a taxi or a matatu (shared minibus) that goes to Bundibugyo. This leg of the journey will cost around UGX 10,000 to UGX 15,000. Once in Bundibugyo, you can hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or a taxi to take you to Rwenzori Mountains National Park, which is about 10 km away.
