Walking
If you are starting from the center of Mbarara, head east on Main Street towards the Mbarara Central Market. Walk past the market until you reach the junction with Kampala Road. At this junction, turn left onto Kampala Road and continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Look for signs or local landmarks to help you navigate. As you approach the area of IANA HILL GARDENS, keep an eye out for the CJ3X+P5 address on your right. The entrance to the gardens will be easily recognizable.
Bicycle
For those opting to cycle from the Mbarara Central Market, head east on Main Street, then turn left onto Kampala Road. Continue cycling for approximately 1.5 kilometers, keeping an eye out for local traffic and pedestrians. You will find IANA HILL GARDENS located at the CJ3X+P5 address on your right. Be cautious at intersections and ensure you follow any local cycling regulations.
Public Transport (Boda Boda)
From your location in Mbarara, find a nearby boda boda (motorcycle taxi) stand. Inform the rider that you wish to go to IANA HILL GARDENS located at CJ3X+P5. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting the journey. The rider will drop you off right at the entrance of the gardens.
Public Transport (Matatu)
If you prefer taking a matatu (shared taxi), head to the nearest matatu stage and look for one heading towards the direction of Kampala Road. Once you board, let the conductor know you want to get off near IANA HILL GARDENS. It’s advisable to ask locals or the conductor for the best stop to get off. After getting off, you may need to walk a short distance towards the CJ3X+P5 address to reach the gardens.
