Getting There

  • Bicycle

    Starting from Mbarara town center, head south on Rukungiri Road. Continue for about 10 km until you reach the junction with the Kabale-Mbarara Road. Turn left onto the Kabale-Mbarara Road and cycle for another 15 km. Look for signs directing you to Bwindi Buhoma. As you approach, you’ll find Tour guide Bwindi on your right side, located in the Boma area.

  • Walking

    From the Mbarara bus station, walk south on Rukungiri Road. After approximately 2 km, you will come to a major intersection. Cross the road and continue straight for about 8 km until you reach the junction with the Kabale-Mbarara Road. At the junction, turn left and walk for about 15 km. You should see signs for Bwindi Buhoma. Tour guide Bwindi will be located on your right side in the Boma area.

  • Public Transport (Boda Boda)

    From Mbarara town, you can hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) from any of the boda boda stages. Ask the driver to take you to Bwindi Buhoma. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure you specify that you want to go to Tour guide Bwindi, which is located in the Boma area.

  • Public Transport (Matatu)

    From the Mbarara taxi park, board a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Kabale. The matatu will drop you off at the junction of Kabale-Mbarara Road. From there, you can either walk (about 15 km) or take a boda boda to Tour guide Bwindi, which is located in the Boma area.
