Walking
If you are anywhere in Mbarara town, start by heading towards the main road, which is known as the Mbarara - Kampala Road (also called the Masaka Road). Depending on your location, you can ask locals for directions to this main road. Once you reach the main road, head in the direction of the town center. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will reach the junction with the Nyakairu Road. Turn right onto Nyakairu Road and continue walking straight for about 2 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and small eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Nyakairu Resort beach. As you approach the beach area, you will notice a sign indicating the entrance to Nyakairu Resort beach on your left. Follow the path down to the beach area.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from various rental shops located in Mbarara town. Start your journey on the main road (Mbarara - Kampala Road), heading towards the town center. After about 1 kilometer, take a right onto Nyakairu Road. Continue cycling straight for approximately 2 kilometers, enjoying the local scenery. You will pass by a few small shops and residential areas. Look for signage that indicates Nyakairu Resort beach as you approach. The entrance to Nyakairu Resort beach will be on your left, and you can park your bicycle in the designated area.
Public Transport (Boda Boda)
To reach Nyakairu Resort beach using a boda boda (motorcycle taxi), you can find boda boda stages throughout Mbarara town. Approach a boda boda driver and inform them that you want to go to Nyakairu Resort beach. They will take you along the Mbarara - Kampala Road. After about 5 minutes of ride, they will make a right turn onto Nyakairu Road. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes from the town center, depending on traffic. The boda boda will drop you off at the entrance of Nyakairu Resort beach, where you can pay them for the service.
