Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the main town on the Ssese Islands, which is usually Kalangala. From Kalangala, drive towards the ferry terminal and take the ferry to the mainland, which should take approximately 1-2 hours. The ferry fare is about 7,000 UGX for a passenger. Once you reach the mainland at Bukakata, continue driving towards Masaka on the Masaka-Bukakata Road. Once you arrive in Masaka, follow the signs to Nabugabo Sand Beach, which is about 10 km from the town center. Look for local signage directing you to the beach as you approach.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start your journey from Kalangala by taking a local taxi (matatu) or a boat to the ferry terminal. Follow the same ferry route to Bukakata, and there you can catch a local taxi or a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to Masaka. The taxi fare from Bukakata to Masaka is approximately 10,000 UGX. Once in Masaka, you can hire a boda-boda to take you directly to Nabugabo Sand Beach, which will cost around 15,000 UGX. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand.
