Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Fort Portal, which is one of the nearest major towns to Kibale Forest. From Fort Portal, take the Bwamba Road (also known as the Fort Portal-Kibale Road) heading west. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the entrance to Kibale Forest National Park, which is well marked. Follow the signs to the park headquarters, where you can obtain more information and arrange for guided tours. Please note that there may be a park entrance fee of around 40,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings) for foreign tourists.

For those using public transportation, you can board a matatu (shared taxi) from Fort Portal to Kibale. These matatus will take you directly to the Kibale area. The journey may take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Kibale area, you may need to take a short boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) ride to reach the park entrance. Expect to pay about 10,000 UGX for the boda-boda ride. Make sure to confirm with the driver that you are going to the Kibale Forest National Park.
