Getting There

Car
If you are driving from Fort Portal, head east on the Fort Portal-Kamwenge Road (A109). After about 27 kilometers, turn left onto the Kamwenge-Kasese Road (A109) and follow it for approximately 16 kilometers until you see the sign for Katara Lodge. The lodge is located just off the main road, follow the signs for about 3 kilometers to reach the entrance.

Public Transportation
From Fort Portal, take a shared taxi or matatu heading towards Kamwenge. This should cost around 10,000 UGX per person. Get off at the Kamwenge junction after about 30 minutes. From there, you can either walk (approximately 3 kilometers) or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) for about 5,000 UGX to take you directly to Katara Lodge.

If you are already in Katara town, you can hire a boda-boda to take you to Katara Lodge. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes and cost approximately 3,000 to 5,000 UGX.
