Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you're driving, head towards Kampala using the main roads. From the Western Region, take the Mbarara-Kampala road (A104). Follow this road until you reach the outskirts of Kampala. Look for signs directing you to Jinja Road. Once you reach Jinja Road, keep driving straight for about 5 kilometers. Prime Plaza will be on your left at 7 Jinja Road, Kampala. Make sure to check for parking availability near the plaza.
Public Transportation (Matatu)
To reach Prime Plaza using public transportation, find a matatu (shared taxi) heading to Kampala. You can catch these from major towns like Mbarara or Fort Portal. Once in Kampala, ask the driver to drop you off at the Jinja Road junction. From there, you can either walk about 1 kilometer to Prime Plaza or catch a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) for a small fee, typically around 1,000 to 3,000 UGX depending on the distance.
Boda Boda
If you prefer a quicker option after arriving in Kampala, you can hire a boda-boda to take you directly to Prime Plaza. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 2,000 to 5,000 UGX from the Jinja Road junction, depending on the distance and traffic.
Walking
If you're already in the central area of Kampala, you can walk to Prime Plaza from nearby locations. Follow Jinja Road towards the east, and after approximately 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach Prime Plaza at 7 Jinja Road. Make sure to stay aware of your surroundings and traffic while walking.
Use Prime Plaza as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
