If you are already in Shevchenkivskyi District, the easiest way to reach Independence Monument is by walking. Head towards the Maidan Nezalezhnosti area. Look for the prominent Dnipro River on your left as you walk. Depending on your starting point, you may pass through Taras Shevchenko Park, which is a beautiful green space. Continue walking in the direction of the main street, Khreshchatyk, and follow it until you see the large square, Maidan Nezalezhnosti, where the Independence Monument is located. It should take about 10-20 minutes from most spots in the district.

If you prefer to use public transportation, you can take the Kyiv Metro. Locate the nearest metro station, such as 'Universytet' or 'Lva Tolstoho' on the blue line (Line 3). Board the train heading towards 'Syrets' and get off at the 'Maidan Nezalezhnosti' station. This station is directly located under the Independence Monument. Once you exit the station, follow the signs leading to Maidan Nezalezhnosti, and you will find the monument right above ground.
