    Getting There

    Walking

    If you are in the center of Shevchenkivskyi District, simply head south towards Taras Shevchenko Boulevard. Walk along the boulevard until you reach the intersection with Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti). This is approximately a 15-minute walk depending on your starting point. As you approach the square, you will see the prominent Independence Monument, which is hard to miss.

    Metro

    If you are farther from the square, consider taking the Kyiv Metro. Find the nearest metro station to you, such as 'Universytet' or 'Zoloti Vorota'. Purchase a token at the kiosk (approximately 8 UAH). Take the metro line towards 'Maidan Nezalezhnosti' station. Once you exit the train, follow the signs to the exit. You will be directly at Independence Square.

    Tram

    You can also take a tram if you are near a tram stop. Look for tram lines 8 or 18, which both stop at 'Maidan Nezalezhnosti'. Buy a ticket from the conductor or at a kiosk (cost is around 8 UAH). Stay on the tram until you reach the stop at Independence Square, where you can get off and explore.

    Bus

    Another public transport option is the bus. Check for buses that have stops along Taras Shevchenko Boulevard or near the National Taras Shevchenko University. Take any bus heading towards Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Bus fares are also about 8 UAH, payable upon boarding. Get off at the Maidan Nezalezhnosti stop, which will put you right at the square.
