Car
From the center of Bangor, head south on the A5 towards Bethesda. Continue on the A5 for about 5 miles. As you approach Bethesda, look for signs to the YHA Idwal Cottage. Turn left onto the Afon Ogwen Road, following signs for the hostel. After approximately 1 mile, you will see the entrance to YHA Idwal Cottage on your left, just as you enter Nant Ffrancon.

Public Transportation
From Bangor Train Station, take the bus service 'S5' towards Bethesda. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bethesda, disembark at the bus stop near the town center. From there, walk south on the A5 towards the direction of the Ogwen Valley. It is approximately a 20-minute walk (1 mile) to YHA Idwal Cottage. Follow the A5, and look for the sign to the hostel on your left as you approach Nant Ffrancon.
