Getting There

  • Walking

    From the city center of Belfast, head towards Donegall Square. Locate the Belfast City Hall and exit towards Victoria Street. Continue straight on Victoria Street until you reach the intersection with the A2. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and continue on the A2. Follow the A2 for about 1.5 miles until you reach the River Lagan. You'll notice the Lagan Towpath on your right. Follow the Towpath southward along the river, and you will soon find yourself at various points along the Lagan Canal.

  • Bus

    From Belfast city center, catch the Metro bus number 9 or 10 towards Lisburn. The bus stop is located near the front of the Belfast City Hall. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Lisburn stop. From there, walk towards the Lagan Canal, which is about a 15-minute walk. Head south on Market Square, then continue onto Bow Street, and finally turn left onto the Towpath to access the Lagan Canal.

    From Belfast Great Victoria Street Station, take a train to Lisburn Station. The train ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Lisburn Station, exit the station and turn left. Walk straight for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the Lagan Canal Towpath. Follow the Towpath to enjoy the scenic views along the canal.
