If you are traveling by car, start from Thurso town center. Head northwest on Ormlie Road/A9 towards the A836. Continue on A836 for about 7 miles (11 km) until you reach the junction for Dunnet. Turn left onto B855 and follow this road for approximately 4 miles (6.4 km). You will arrive at Dunnet Head Lighthouse, located at Observation Road, Dunnet, Thurso KW14 8XS. Parking is available near the lighthouse.

For those using public transport, take a bus from Thurso to Dunnet. The bus service (operated by Stagecoach) runs regularly from Thurso to Dunnet. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Dunnet bus stop, it's a short walk of approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) to Dunnet Head Lighthouse. Follow the signs towards the lighthouse along Observation Road.

If you are already in Dunnet village, the lighthouse is a beautiful walk away. From the village center, head northeast on B855, and after about 0.5 miles (0.8 km), turn right onto Observation Road. Continue straight for another 0.5 miles (0.8 km), and you will reach Dunnet Head Lighthouse. The walk offers stunning views of the coastline.
