Built as the Salisbury Hotel and first licensed in 1886, the pub now functions as a Wells & Co craft venue combining bar service with wood-fired pizzas and one-pot meals. The location is firmly neighbourhood rather than tourist-core; terraced housing and station-side streets surround it, with no college or riverside views.

The original three-part footprint survives: a lower-ceiling front snug, a central bar with a steel-topped counter, and a taller rear room created by removing a former upper floor. Mixed tables, picnic benches and old Cambridge Beer Festival posters create an informal, homely feel. The wood-fired oven at roughly 290 °C forms the visual focus. Weekday afternoons remain quiet; evenings and event nights grow livelier with quiz sessions, live music or Sunday jam sessions.

The menu centres on pizzas priced £11.50–£15, one-pot comfort dishes £10–£14.50, Sunday roasts and a children’s menu. Lunch-club deals and Monday 2-for-1 pizza nights provide value options.
