From the heart of Old Town, start at the Market Square (the main square). Head east on St. Mary's Passage, then continue onto King Street. At the end of King Street, turn left onto Trinity Street. Walk straight until you reach the junction with Queen's Road. Turn right onto Queen's Road. Continue walking for about 10 minutes; you will find The Backs on your left, just before you reach the river.
