From the city center of Derry, head to the Foyle Bus Station located at 15 Foyle St, Derry BT48 6AL. Look for the bus that heads to Portrush; it should be operated by companies like Ulsterbus or Translink. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Portrush Bus Station, exit the station and turn left onto Dunluce Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the junction with W Strand Rd. Turn right onto W Strand Rd, and West Strand Beach will be a short walk down the road on your left.

Train and Walk
From Derry, you can take a train from the Derry Train Station, located at 1 Foyle St, Derry BT48 6AL, to Coleraine. The train service is operated by Translink and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Coleraine Train Station, exit the station and catch a bus to Portrush. The bus stop is just outside the train station. When you reach Portrush, walk down Main St and turn onto W Strand Rd. West Strand Beach will be on your right.
