Walking
From Durham City Centre, head towards the bus station located on North Road. You can use the pedestrian pathways leading from the Market Place towards the bus station. Once at the bus station, look for buses heading towards Chester-le-Street. The bus number 21 or X21 can take you directly to Chester-le-Street. After approximately 20 minutes, alight at the stop near the Chester-le-Street town centre. From there, walk towards Ropery Lane by heading south on the main road (Newcastle Road) for about 0.5 miles until you reach the junction with Ropery Lane. Turn left onto Ropery Lane, and Riverside Park will be just a short walk down the road on your right.
