    Start at Durham Train Station. Exit the station and head south on the A690 (North Road) towards the city center. Continue straight until you reach the traffic lights at the junction with A167 (St. Cuthbert’s Way). Cross the road and turn left onto St. Cuthbert’s Way. Follow this road until you reach a roundabout. Take the first exit onto the A691 (Dragonville) and continue straight for about 1 mile. Turn right onto Coniston Close. The entrance to The Scrambles Nature Reserve will be on your right. The total walking distance is approximately 1.5 miles.

  • Bus

    From Durham City Centre, head to the bus stop on North Road and catch the 16 or 20 bus towards Belmont. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes. Get off at the stop for Coniston Close. Walk down Coniston Close, and you will find The Scrambles Nature Reserve on your right. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the most accurate timings.

  • Cycling

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can start at the Durham Train Station. Head south on the A690 (North Road) towards the city center. Continue straight to the roundabout and take the first exit onto A691. Follow this road for about 1 mile and take a right onto Coniston Close. The Scrambles Nature Reserve will be on your right. The route is approximately 1.5 miles long and is suitable for cycling.
