Walking
If you are starting from the Durham Train Station, exit the station and head straight down to the main road, North Road. Turn left and walk along North Road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the A690 (also known as Leazes Road). Continue walking on this road until you reach the next roundabout. From here, take the second exit onto Elvet Bridge. Cross the bridge, and once you are across, turn left onto the footpath that leads up to the Cathedral. Follow the signs for 'Durham Cathedral' as you ascend the hill, and you will find the Cathedral on your right. The total walk should take approximately 20-25 minutes.

Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, head to the nearest bus stop on North Road. Look for buses heading towards 'Durham City Centre.' You can catch the 6, 20, or 30 services. Get off at the stop named 'Durham Market Place.' From there, walk towards the Market Square, take the path to your right which leads to the Cathedral. It’s a short 10-minute walk uphill from the Market Place to the Cathedral, following the signs.

If you would like a more direct route, consider taking a taxi. You can find a taxi rank at various locations in Durham, including outside of the train station and in the Market Square.
