If you are starting from Durham City Centre, head south towards the Market Place. From there, continue straight onto Silver Street, which merges into Elvet Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight as you walk along Elvet Road. After a few minutes, you will reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto South Road. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles (approximately 10 minutes) until you see the Oriental Museum on your left at Elvet Hill Road. The museum is located at Elvet Hill Rd, South Rd, Durham DH1 3TH.

From Durham City Centre, you can take the number 6 or 6A bus towards 'Durham University.' Look for the bus stop near the Market Place and board the bus. The journey will take about 10-15 minutes. Get off at the South Road stop; the Oriental Museum is a short walk from there. Head back towards South Road and walk along it for about 5 minutes, and you will find the museum on your right.
