I had an afternoon to spare in Edinburgh, (travelling solo). I jumped on a green hop on hop off bus and had a great afternoon. I went round the full circuit listening to one tour guide and found it really informative. I then did it again with different tour guides but stopped off in several different places. H2 guide had something a little bit different to add they were very friendly and the buses were easy to use I would recommend recommend it.

3 day overview
I loved doing 2 of 3 routes on the first day. Got a good feel for the lay of the land. Good to do when adjusting to time changes. Love the included excursions. Second day we did 3rd route and other excursions. Such a great way to learn about the city and get around.
