Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving, start from Portree, the largest town on the Isle of Skye. Head west on the A87 towards Kyle of Lochalsh. After approximately 20 miles, take the A850 towards Dunvegan. Continue on this road for about 10 miles until you reach the T-junction with the A863. Turn left onto the A863, and follow the signs for Dunvegan. After about 5 miles, turn right onto the B884 towards Glendale. Follow this road until you reach the end, where you will find the Neist Point Lighthouse. The drive takes about 40-50 minutes from Portree.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transport, you can take a bus from Portree to Dunvegan. The number 57 bus runs regularly, but check the local timetable for exact times. Once you arrive in Dunvegan, you will need to take a taxi to get to Neist Point, as there is no direct public transport to the lighthouse. The taxi ride from Dunvegan to Neist Point will take approximately 20 minutes and cost around £20-£25. Ensure to book a return taxi as well.
