Abbey House Museum is housed within the Stephen Harding Gate, the original 12th-century gatehouse to Kirkstall Abbey, one of England’s notable Cistercian monasteries. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century, the gatehouse transitioned from a religious entrance to a farmhouse and later a family home.
