Mystical Stourton Stone Circle: A Journey Through Time

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Leeds city center, head towards the train station (Leeds Station). From the station, exit onto New Station Street and walk straight towards City Square. Continue straight onto Wellington Street, then turn left onto the A61 (Infirmary Street). Follow this road until you reach the junction with the A653 (Dewsbury Road). Turn right onto Dewsbury Road and walk for about 1.5 miles. Look for Thwaite Lane on your left. Turn onto Thwaite Lane, and after a short walk, you will find Stourton Stone Circle on your right.

• Bus

  From Leeds city center, head to the bus station and catch the number 12 or number 13 bus towards Wakefield. The bus will take you along Dewsbury Road. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach Thwaite Lane. Once you get off, walk along Thwaite Lane for about a 5-minute walk, and you will find Stourton Stone Circle on your right.

• Train

  From Leeds Station, board a train heading towards Wakefield or Doncaster. Get off at the next stop, which is 'Cottingley'. From the Cottingley station, exit and walk towards the A653 (Dewsbury Road). Turn left and walk on the footpath for about 15 minutes until you reach Thwaite Lane. Turn left onto Thwaite Lane, and after a short walk, you will see Stourton Stone Circle on your right.
