Bradgate Park stands as the only remaining enclosed medieval deer park in the East Midlands, spanning approximately 830 acres of varied terrain including bracken, ancient woodland, grassy meadows, and marshland. Nearby, the iconic Old John Tower, an 18th-century folly perched on the park’s highest point, offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The park also features the Leicestershire Yeomanry war memorial, commemorating those who served in the Boer War and World Wars.

The park’s world-class Visitor Centre provides interactive exhibitions that delve into Bradgate’s rich geological, archaeological, and social history, as well as its diverse wildlife. It serves as an educational hub and a starting point for exploring the park’s many trails. Two tearooms, including the Deer Barn tea room, offer refreshments to visitors. Bradgate Park offers a network of accessible paths, including a tarmac carriageway suitable for cycling, rollerblading, and skateboarding. Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks along the River Lin, admire waterfalls and pools, and explore the adjacent Swithland Wood, a 155-acre ancient woodland designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
