Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by entering the postcode PR1 8JP into your sat nav or GPS device. From the M6 motorway, take junction 31A to join the M65 towards Blackburn/Preston. Continue on the M65 until it merges with the A6. Follow the A6 into Preston city center. Once you reach the city center, follow signs for Avenham Park. You can find parking nearby; pay attention to local parking regulations. Parking costs around £1.50 to £2.00 per hour.

• Train

  If you are traveling by train, head to your nearest train station and take a train to Preston Station. Trains run frequently from major cities in the North West. Upon arrival at Preston Station, exit the station and head towards the city center. Avenham and Miller Park is approximately a 15-minute walk from the station. Follow the signs or use a map application on your phone to navigate to S Meadow Lane, where the parks are located.

• Bus

  For those using public bus services, check local bus schedules for routes that go to Preston city center. Once you arrive at a central bus stop, look for buses that stop near Avenham Park. The parks are within walking distance from major bus stops in the city center. You may need to pay about £2.00 for a single bus fare. Make sure to have some change or a contactless payment option.

• Walking

  If you are already in Preston and prefer walking, Avenham and Miller Park are easily accessible by foot. Start at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, which is a central point in Preston. From there, head south on Market Street, continue onto Winckley Square, and then follow the signs leading to S Meadow Lane. The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes and will take you through some of the city’s beautiful streets.
