This is the second time we have participated in a tour with Alasdair: we have relatives in London and we liked the previous tour so much that this time I also brought my partner, a great fan of C.S. Lewis. The experience did not disappoint expectations. The visit to the Magdalen College gardens was the highlight: it was exciting to see the places where Lewis and Tolkien walked and conversed

INFO FOR DRIVERS AND PARKING: If you are driving, then please allow extra 30-60 minutes over whatever time you think it will take you to get here. Oxford is NOT car friendly and it is congested roads and hard to find parking spaces....unless you park at the sign posted 'park and rides' on edge of town. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: We actually recommend instead using the much faster and reliable train services but again please aim to arrive about an hour or earlier before your tour starts as trains can be delayed and the train and coach station are about 15 minutes walk from our meeting point. Sorry dat ik stoor, maar waar we de review echt nodig hebben, is op de tourpagina waar jullie de boeking hebben gedaan, aangezien we al ongeveer 1.000 reviews voor het bedrijf hebben. Het echte probleem dat ik eerder noemde, is dat we sommige tours hebben, zoals de tourproductpagina waar ik jullie naartoe heb verwezen om te boeken, die simpelweg over het hoofd wordt gezien bij Viator-zoekopdrachten door toeristen... totdat het eerst 15 reviews bereikt. Dus als we je nog een paar minuten kunnen storen, kun je dan alsjeblieft teruggaan naar je bevestigingsmail van de boeking op Viator en waar het zegt , het daar opnieuw openen en dan een review plaatsen – zelfs als het gewoon 5 sterren zonder commentaar is – naast die specifieke Viator-tourpagina. Tom was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Oxford and the shows. He knew so many interesting facts, not only about Inspector Morse and Inspector Lewis, but about Oxford itself, which made the tour so much more enjoyable. He even threw in some Harry Potter facts because he remembered that I love Harry Potter, which was such a lovely personal touch! Unfortunately, the weather took a turn and it started absolutely chucking it down with rain. Tom kindly gave me his umbrella and ended up getting soaked himself without complaining once. He also took some really lovely photos of me and my dad, making sure we had some special memories to take home with us. Eventually, the rain became so heavy that we had to cut the tour short, but Tom was so lovely and understanding throughout. His kindness, knowledge and enthusiasm really made the experience special despite the weather. I would 100% recommend Tom to anyone looking to do an Oxford tour. He was fantastic, and when I come back to Oxford, I’ll definitely be booking another tour with him! Thank you so much, Tom! ❤️

Magnificent tour of Oxford

This was a fabulous small group tour. The driver is excellent, knowledgeable, chatty and safe. He knows the various student guides in Oxford and chooses the best for his guests. Our guide was a PhD student of medieval history. Who better to guide you through a medieval university? I highly recommend choosing this tour if you want an excellent tour of Oxford and have only a day from London.
