Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by entering the Peak District National Park and head towards Manchester. From the A57, take the A635(M) towards Manchester city center. Continue onto the A635(M) which will merge into the A635. Follow signs for the A635(M) and then take the exit for Deansgate. Merge onto Deansgate and continue until you reach Sackville Street. The National Transgender Memorial will be located at Sackville St, Manchester M1 3EZ. There is limited street parking available, so be prepared to find a parking space nearby or use one of the public car parks in the area.

• Public Transportation - Train

  To reach the National Transgender Memorial via public transportation, take a train from any major station in the Peak District to Manchester Piccadilly Station. Trains frequently run from stations such as Edale, Hope Valley, and Buxton. Upon arrival at Manchester Piccadilly, exit the station and head towards the city center. You can either walk (approximately 15-20 minutes) or take a bus (routes 42 or 43) from the bus stop located outside the station. If walking, head down Piccadilly and turn onto Deansgate, then continue to Sackville Street where the memorial is located.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  For those traveling by bus, look for services that connect the Peak District to Manchester. Local bus services such as the X57 from Buxton or the 272 from Bakewell will bring you to Manchester city center. Upon arriving at the bus station, you can either walk to Sackville Street (approximately 10-15 minutes) or catch a local bus (such as the 42 or 43) heading in that direction. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.
