Holy Island of Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle private tour
Amazing Northumbria Castles!!
Today we had most amazing day with our guide, Peter, visiting Holy Island, Bamburgh & Alnwick Castles! We stayed in Belford where Peter picked us up before heading to Lindisfarne. The day was tailored to us which we greatly appreciated. Yes— he knows the tides’ schedule to our relief. Peter gave us key historical facts as well as little known, fascinating stories at each location. He has a natural interest in the history, geography, religions and peoples of the area and brought the past to life. He had seen The Last Kingdom which was how we heard about Northumbria—which might be why we liked Bamburgh Castle the best! On a personal note, he was super chill, a great conversationalist and answered all of our questions. We highly recommend his tours and hope to return to see more of the area in the future with him.
