This was an informative tour of Stoney Middleton including a steep but easy-paced return climb to neighbouring Eyam. The local guide was friendly and attentive, poetically revealing some of the more sinister village secrets from previous centuries. This would be an enlightening introduction for anyone visiting or unfamiliar with the area, combining spectacular views, heritage and legend.
