Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from any location in Snowdonia National Park, first locate the A4086 road. From the A5, take the exit onto the A4086 towards Llanberis. Continue on the A4086 for approximately 8 miles, following signs for Llanberis. Once you arrive in Llanberis, follow the signs for the Llanberis Lake Railway, which is located at Gilfach Ddu, Padarn Park. There is a parking area available for visitors, but be aware that parking may be limited during peak tourist seasons.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus to Llanberis from nearby towns such as Caernarfon or Betws-y-Coed. The bus service is operated by Gwynedd Transport, and the bus stop in Llanberis is a short walk from the Llanberis Lake Railway. Once you arrive at the Llanberis bus stop, head towards the center of the village, and follow the signs to Gilfach Ddu, Padarn Park. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop to the railway. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited, especially on Sundays.

• Taxi

  Alternatively, you may consider taking a taxi from nearby towns or train stations. If you arrive at Caernarfon railway station, it’s about a 20-minute taxi ride to the Llanberis Lake Railway. Confirm the fare with the driver before departing. This option provides a direct route to the railway without the need to navigate public transport.
