Travel Guide to Llyn Padarn

Getting There

• Car

  If you're travelling by car, start by navigating to Caernarfon, which is the nearest town to Llyn Padarn. From the center of Caernarfon, take the A4086 road heading towards Llanberis. After approximately 6 miles (about 10 minutes), you’ll reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto the B4547 towards Llanberis. Continue straight, and you will see signs for Llyn Padarn. The lake is located just outside of Llanberis, and you can park at the designated car parks near the lake. Please note that parking may incur a fee, which varies by location.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a train to Bangor Station. From Bangor, you can catch a bus (Service 85 or 86) to Llanberis. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes, and the stop you're looking for is 'Llanberis' which is close to Llyn Padarn. Once you arrive in Llanberis, the lake is just a short walk (about 10-15 minutes) from the bus stop. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Llyn Padarn. Ensure to check the local bus schedules for departure times, as they can vary.

• Cycling

  If you're feeling adventurous and have access to a bicycle, you can cycle to Llyn Padarn. From Caernarfon, take the A4086 road as described earlier. There are designated cycling routes and paths that make the journey safe and enjoyable. The distance is approximately 6 miles and should take about 40-50 minutes depending on your cycling speed. There are bike racks available near the lake for you to secure your bicycle.
